Ronald McDonald

Ronald McDonald came to our school. He sang me a happy birthday song and after that he gave me a high five. And then he taught us road safety.

By Joshua Scott

Yesterday Ronald McDonald came to our school. He talked to us about road safety. He taught us to "Stop, look and listen. he had red and white and yellow socks. His face was painted. His shoes were long. He made a story for the schools in Richmond. And when he wanted to ride in his car he walked instead.

yesterday Ronald McDonald came to our school. We were so exited! He told us about road safety so we don't get so close to the road and not to play on the road and to stay on the house side of the road. He pretended he had lost his sock but it was behind his back. The sock was a puppet. We got to keep his puppet.

Estuary Clean Up Stories

We went to the estuary to clean it up. I got heaps of rubbish. There was lots of rubbish because people drop it. We went to the roost so we could sort the rubbish.

Guess what happened on Wednesday the 24th? Saint Pauls School went to the estuary to clean up. My buddy was alex and he was nice and fun to be around. the next day my class sorted the things we had brought from the estuary then David's dad took it to the recycling centre. he had to sort it into the bins.At the recycling centre rubbish is made in to new things like cots, bottles, jars, paper and cardboard.

Making gifts and cards for Fathers' Day

We talked about making gifts and cards ourselves so that we are not using up too much of the earth's resources by having unnecessary packaging and transporting of the products. Here we are loving cooking truffles and making our own cards.

Rubbish Free Lunches

St Paul's School is having fun making lunches that have no plastic packaging or gladwrap. We are using lunchboxes with compartments to separate our food. Look at the ideas people have come up with:

  • raisins, dates, prunes, figs or nuts in small containers. These can be bought in one packet instead of lots of little ones.
  • fruit, because fruit often has its own natural wrapper.
  • carrot, celery and cheese sticks
  • crackers
  • sandwiches or buns
  • pasta dishes in a small container
  • sausages or cheerios
  • pita pockets or tortilla wraps
  • fresh cut up salad
  • yoghurt put into a small container from the 1 kg containers.
Look at some of the great lunches that we are enjoying.
