St Paul's Talent Quest

What fantastic talent we witnessed on Tuesday 13th December.!
Brave children entered the Talent Quest with dance, gymnastic routines, drumming, jokes and singing.
6 and 7 year olds in Piwakawaka took the school by storm and surprised everybody.

Sophie and Lucy twirling and rolly-polling with bridges to fininsh!

Madison you are amazing.
You remembered and sweetly sang all those words.
Keep it up and you'll be in the school choir before you know it!

Katie and Rosa whizzing through the air during their breath taking routine.

Pirates Jack and Flynn were magnificent onboard with their swords and singing.

Christmas 2011

One of the delights of December in the junior school is witnessing the excitement of our children. Their questions, carol singing, gift making and decorating is joyous! Here are some Piwakawaka children in full swing!

Games and Fair Play

We have learned about fair play.  Taking turns, inviting people in, not leaving anyone out and respecting people's differences were our main themes. We read and talked about it, but the real test was when we were playing games and sports.

The Toy Stall

Yesterday St Paul’s junior classes had a toy sale. We had a toy sale because we have been learning about global warming and looking after God’s Earth.
We raised money to give to Caritas.

We collected lots of toys from all the classes. There were lots of toys, puzzles, books and games.

At morning tea the whole school could come and buy some toys.
We had it in the junior roost and Lauren’s and Rosa’s Mum helped us sell toys.

We raised $70.60 for the countries like Nepal, who have been affected by global warming.

Ronald McDonald

Ronald McDonald came to our school. He sang me a happy birthday song and after that he gave me a high five. And then he taught us road safety.

By Joshua Scott

Yesterday Ronald McDonald came to our school. He talked to us about road safety. He taught us to "Stop, look and listen. he had red and white and yellow socks. His face was painted. His shoes were long. He made a story for the schools in Richmond. And when he wanted to ride in his car he walked instead.

yesterday Ronald McDonald came to our school. We were so exited! He told us about road safety so we don't get so close to the road and not to play on the road and to stay on the house side of the road. He pretended he had lost his sock but it was behind his back. The sock was a puppet. We got to keep his puppet.

We went to the estuary to clean it up. I got heaps of rubbish. There was lots of rubbish because people drop it. We went to the roost so we could sort the rubbish.

My buddy was alex and he was nice and fun to be around. the next day my class sorted the things we had brought from the estuary then David's dad took it to the recycling centre. he had to sort it into the bins.At the recycling centre rubbish is made in to new things like cots, bottles, jars, paper and cardboard.

Making gifts and cards for Fathers' Day

We talked about making gifts and cards ourselves so that we are not using up too much of the earth's resources by having unnecessary packaging and transporting of the products. Here we are loving cooking truffles and making our own cards.
